Sabia hearts E.A.S.T.

Being a proud local business in Austin for over a decade, Sabia is super excited for the E.A.S.T. Austin Studio Tour beginning this weekend. Get your art on!!

For nine days in November, artist studios, art galleries, and various spaces all over east Austin will open up their doors to the public for the 10th East Austin Studio Tour. E.A.S.T. is a celebration of east Austin’s creative community and a chance for the public to get a behind-the-scenes look at working artists’ spaces and processes. Visitors can purchase art, see where artists work, and visit with artists about their art process. Additionally, a number of spaces will be presenting various art and performance events on all ends of the artistic spectrum.

FULL TOUR: 12 – 20 November 2011
ARTISTS & STUDIOS: open the weekends of November 12/13 & 19/20, 11:00am – 6:00pm
EVENTS & EXHIBITS: various hours and dates throughout the nine days of the tour (set by each individual venue; see website or catalog for full listing)
COST: free & open to the public
The exhibition spaces include established & pop-up venues which are presenting fine art or performances.  Events encompass a wide variety of performance pieces, creative programs, exhibit openings, art parties, site-specific projects, etc. The catalog and the website will both have full listings of specific times and information for each venue.
CATA-LAUNCH catalog launch party: 22 October 2011, 6 – 9pm
CATA-LAUNCH afterparty: 22 October 2011, 9 – 11pm
INVITATION ONLY: to receive an invitation, join the Friends of E.A.S.T. or become a sponsor
The E.A.S.T. catalog is scheduled for release on October 22nd. Big Medium will host Cata-Launch, a party to celebrate the tour and show appreciation for (and give catalogs and mini-swag to) participating artists, Friends of E.A.S.T., and donors. 
E.A.S.T. CATALOG AVAILABILITY:  26 October – 20 November 2011

After Cata-Launch, the catalog will be available for free throughout Austin through all 22 branches of the Austin Public Library and at Big Medium through the end of the tour.
