Kathryn's Top Five

Kathryn is our new Sunday Girl. She brings perky positivity to Sabia and we all just adore her. Now that she has had some time to settle in, we checked in with her and her top five faves, so in no particular order....

1. Monoi Oil- This oh so delicious smelling oil is the perfect pick me up for your skin after a day in the sun. Put it on right after you shower and keep your skin feeling hydrated and soft. You can even put a little touch to spruce up dry hair! It's magical.

2. Marvis Toothpaste- Seriously friends, I love this toothpaste. Once you brush with it you will never be able to go back to your old toothpaste again. All the flavors are so lovely, but for an interesting twist in your dental routine try the Jasmine Mint- it's flowery AND minty! Yum!

3. Hair Resort Spray- Looking for some sexy summer beach waves? Hair resort spray will get you there! Just spritz some of this in damp hair and go. Your hair will not only look great, it will smell super too!

4. Anti-Oxidant Infusion Balm- I am familiar with the quest to combat dry skin, but let me tell you the search for the perfect product is over! This moisturizer will rejuvenate your skin and give it the nourishment it needs to look fresh and feel soft.

5. Retexturing Activator- This serum both exfoliates and hydrates giving your skin a soft smooth texture. It diminishes surface lines and wrinkles and is great for all skin types. Use a few drops at night and wake up to radiant skin in the morning! Does it get any better than that?

If you need help during tax season, you can also find Kathryn at the The Tax Trailer.
All products are available at Sabia Apothecary.

Hair trends, Isla Fisher and satin pillowcases

Are there any fun hair trends that you are excited about trying out on yourself or suggesting to clients?
'I love that strawberry blondes and redheads are so in right now.  Most people can look amazing with a warmer shade, it just needs to be the right one to flatter their skin tone and perk up their eye color.  I notice many more models and celebs going red and I love love love it.  Fair skin with light eyes looks great with soft golden copper shades, similar to Isla Fisher's.

Medium skin tones with light or dark eyes look great in deeper copper auburn shades, like Kate Walsh.

Dark skin tone and dark eyes are most flattered with cool reds, like a dark cherry or mahogany.'
Do you recommend sticking to just one shampoo/conditioner combo? Or do you have several in your shower?
‘If you color your hair, I recommend using the Phytocitrus shampoo and mask right after color and then weekly to maintain vibrancy.  It keeps the cuticle closed so your color won't fade nearly as fast and you will have SHINE!!
The most important thing is to use what is made for your hair and scalp type.  Most hairstylists know the ingredients of their line of choice very well which can be extremely helpful in getting the perfect cocktail of products.  Don't use anything full of plastics and sulfates, they are not good for anything.’
Before bed beauty ritual?
‘Satin pillowcases are really good for your hair and skin!! Sleep in deep conditioner if your hair is very dry or porous and shampoo it out in the morning, it will look and feel amazing.  (I like Born Again Mask by Kevin Murphy)’
You recently spent some time in Paris learning a new technique, could you tell us about that?
‘Studying the balayage techniques by the salon that created it was really wonderful. It gave me the fine tuning I needed to be able to create color that grows out well, rather than just creating color that looks great the first 5 weeks.  That is a difference I take pride in.’
